Exams Conducted by SOF Every Year

Every year, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts a series of exams to promote academic excellence and enhance students’ knowledge in various subjects. These exams include:

  • National Cyber Olympiad (NCO): NCO assesses students’ proficiency in computer science and information technology. It evaluates their understanding of computer fundamentals, logical reasoning, programming concepts, and cyber awareness. NCO is open to students from classes 1 to 12.

  • National Science Olympiad (NSO): NSO is designed to evaluate students’ scientific knowledge and logical reasoning skills. It covers physics, chemistry, biology, and general science topics. NSO provides students from classes 1 to 12 with an opportunity to showcase their scientific understanding and problem-solving abilities.

  • International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO): IMO is a globally recognized math competition. It challenges students’ mathematical skills, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. IMO covers arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number theory, and logical reasoning. Students from classes 1 to 12 can participate and compete at an international level.

  • International English Olympiad (IEO): IEO tests students’ English language proficiency, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills. It aims to enhance their communication skills, reading abilities, and grammatical understanding. IEO is open to students from classes 1 to 12.

  • International Commerce Olympiad (ICO): ICO focuses on commerce and economics. It assesses students’ knowledge of business concepts, financial literacy, economics, marketing, and international trade. ICO is for students in classes 11 and 12 who have a passion for commerce and wish to showcase their understanding of the subject.

  • International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO): IGKO evaluates students’ general knowledge and awareness. It covers topics such as history, geography, current affairs, science, sports, and culture. IGKO aims to broaden students’ knowledge, develop their critical thinking skills, and foster a global perspective. Students from classes 1 to 10 can participate in IGKO.

Syllabus

  • National Cyber Olympiad (NCO): The NCO syllabus covers topics related to computer science, information technology, and cyber awareness. It includes areas such as computer fundamentals, logical reasoning, algorithms, programming concepts, cybersecurity, and internet technologies.

  • National Science Olympiad (NSO): The NSO syllabus encompasses various scientific disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, and general science. It covers topics such as basic scientific concepts, scientific reasoning, living and non-living things, plants and animals, human body, matter and materials, force and motion, energy, and environmental science.

  • International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO): The IMO syllabus focuses on different branches of mathematics. It includes topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number theory, logical reasoning, patterns, puzzles, and mathematical applications.

  • International English Olympiad (IEO): The IEO syllabus evaluates students’ proficiency in the English language. It covers areas such as vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, reading skills, verbal reasoning, and literary devices.

  • International Commerce Olympiad (ICO): The ICO syllabus assesses students’ knowledge of commerce, economics, and business concepts. It includes topics like accounting, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, business environment, trade, economics, and current affairs related to commerce.

  • International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO): The IGKO syllabus tests students’ awareness and knowledge of general topics. It covers areas like current affairs, history, geography, science, sports, culture, famous personalities, books and authors, social issues, and global events.

SOF also awards medals, certificates, and other recognition to the top performers in each exam. The results and rankings are generally published on the official SOF website or communicated through the registered schools.
